Katherine Reel

Bio

Katherine Reel studied visual arts and international business at Chatham University. She segued her skills into a career in makeup artistry, eventually landing in NYC. 

In 2020, Katherine returned to PA. Her desire for a new creative outlet led to wheel throwing classes. Subsequently, Stoke Hole Country provided an introduction to atmospheric firings in a rustic setting.

Katherine finds joy in exploring the multitude of clay bodies. This summer, she began harvesting and processing local wild clay which yielded a high-fire stoneware. 

Artist Statement

Working in ceramics is, to me, a ritualistic endeavor combining craftsmanship and alchemy. My aim is to create intriguing objects that balance aesthetics with utility and enrich the mundane moments of everyday living.
