Guest Potter: Josh Floyd

His third year on the tour, and as studio assistant to Betty Hedman at Smicksburg Pottery, Josh is an artist who was chosen to use clay as his medium of expression. He concentrates on functional pots and strives to find a balance between the funcntional ergonomics and artistic expression. He prefers high fire clays such as stoneware and porcelain and atmospheric firings such as wood firing and salt glazing.

His pots have evolved over the years and encompass the influences of other artists that he has worked with and historic works from accross time.
